I honestly can not believe this name!

I came across something that made my skin crawl....

They are shooting a new show in Dallas that will be on the ABC lineup for fall. This show is entitled "Good Christian B*!^&es."

REALLY???!!!

I am so offended by this name, I can't even tell you. I honestly can't believe more people haven't been up in arms about it!

I mean, I get what they are trying to do...we are in the Bible belt, people in Dallas are Christians but can still be backstabbing and cutthroat. I get it, I get it. But this name is SO hit-you-over-the-head, completely wrong, seriously messed up, TOTALLY offensive, I can't even begin to name all of the things wrong with it.

First of all, I know that there are alot of people out there saying, "Finally, someone has named Christians for what they are!" (People like, Bill Maher for example. And I hope we all know how I feel about him, if you don't, I will be happy to tell you.....) I am also sure that non-Christians will say stuff like, "You guys need to have a sense of humor about who you are!" or something along of lines of, "You are taking yourself too seriously."

Let me just tell you - it takes alot to offend me. Really, it does. And I am a Christian. And this offends me.

Is this name that necessary? I mean, couldn't they find something else to call this show? It's not a reality show, it's a scripted show, like Desperate Housewives. But did they really have to use that language when referring to a group of believers?

As a Christian, this to me is just such a lack of creativity on the part of the show's creators, they had to steep this low to get an interest going, shows how completely uncreative they really are. I would think they would never have a show referring to other groups this way (think, African American or Muslim). But yet somehow, we are supposed to think it's OK because, why again?

I really do understand what it is they are trying to say. They are basically saying that Christians are hypocrites. Especially in this part of the country. I know what they are saying, I really, really do. I get the premise of the show. I just wish they had found a different name for it. They are already starting to refer to it as GCB, which is probably what it will end up being called, because I hardly think that a group of women, standing around a water cooler, talking about what they saw on Good Christian B**&#es the night before, will fly in most social circles or as appropriate work conversation, regardless of your religious beliefs. They won't do well for inspiring popularity for this show.

But I will ALWAYS know what those initials stand for. I, for one, will not watch this show as long as this is the name!

It was a very good day.

I love it when God smiles upon us. I mean, He smiles upon us all the time. But sometimes, it's like sunshine, and Christmas morning, and rainbows, and babies, and awesomeness. On steroids. And I know that those times are not always permanent, so I learn to really wrap myself in His goodness, to take it all in, be happy, and just sit back and wait to see what He is going to do in my life. We have been struggling so long. I knew it was only a matter of time before things would be OK again. Where we would feel a little stability. Where we would take all of the things we learned while struggling and apply then when times are good. We have alot of great things going on in our lives right now. Some really great things. Some amazing, mindblowing, off the grid kind of great things. I wish I could share more, but for right now, let's just say that we are incredibly blessed with some great opportunities God is putting in our lives. I leave you with a gorgeous picture of our biggest bl

What is Your Skin Care Regimen?

Since turning 34 this year, I've been really trying to make sure I am taking care of my skin. I have been using Cover Girl Liquid Powder for years, but it always seemed to break my neck out. And full disclosure, my face cleaning routine consisted of using Avery's baby wipes (which actually do remove eye makeup surprisingly well). So, needless to say, my skin didn't always look its best.   So, I received some gift cards for my birthday and I decided to go ahead and spring for some better products. First thing I did was get something designed to clean my face. I ordered the Olay ProX Microdermabrasion System.     This system came with the battery-operated scrubber with both a brush and foam pad, plus every day face wash and microdermabrasion wash to be used twice a week. I have really loved using this system. The beauty is that you can really use any face wash you'd like. I will probably buy a pore-reducing wash after the tube they sent me is empty. This syst

Dancing With Dad

I have been working on a project these last couple of weeks for my previous company. Yesterday, I was working on my computer and heard roaring laughter coming from Avery's room. I walk in and found Jason and Avery dancing and singing away.   By sheer coincidence, this popped up on my Timehop today. Avery was only 1 in this picture. Boy, are these kiddos lucky to have such a great dad! It makes me heart melt.
