Allison is just a master at candid shots, which is why we hired her in the first place. When we first met with her, she was a freshman in college on the soccer team, doing photography as a hobby. Boy, we lucked out cause we got her before she was famous (Allison, you were way underpaid! After I look at other people's work, we got off lucky cause you are the best I've seen!) Now, she is just doing stuff left and right and is still just so great at candids. I love working with her, she is easy going, doesn't always try and pose you. She puts you in a position and then talks to you, with you not realizing she is getting shots the whole time. And she is amazing with kids, just amazing! Why I am Pro Universal Healthcare and Changes to Our Healthcare System

Due to my recent proactivity with my credit and paying off debt, I decided to give the hospital a call where I was admitted about a month ago and ask about my bill. I wanted to make sure I didn't miss it in the mail and I wanted to get an idea of what I'd be paying for my stay. I get on the phone with the billing department and the woman is just as nice as can be, really. She was surprised I'd even called her, considering I didn't even have a bill yet. She told me she'd sent the bill over to my insurance to be approved and paid but they hadn't heard back yet. "Just out of curiosity," I asked, knowing I would be responsible for 20% of the final bill, "how much was it?" What I heard next shocked me.   "$61,000" she said.   I said, "$61,000? I was only in the hospital for a night and only on anti-biotics, you can't be serious! My daughter cost me less than a third of that to give birth to and I was in the hospital two nights!...

I am a STUDENT again!

I started school this last Tuesday, so if you are wondering why my blog posts have fell behind it's because I have been (gulp) doing homework! Why has it taken me this long to do this? I look back on the last 9 years since being in school and cannot think of a single, solitary reason why I didn't get my degree. Well, I guess the reason would be that I figured I would do it before I turned 30 and that I had plenty of time, I needed to have fun and live my life instead. I don't believe in regret and shoulda-woulda-couldas, so I will not look back on my life hoping things turned out differently. It does make me sad that I will be 30 and still be working towards my degree, but I am also glad that I am 30 and not 40 working on my degree. Being a student this time around is a little bit different. I have noticed that I am not so much of a procrastinator anymore.
