Fall Decorating

I am really going to try and decorate more seasonally this year, rather than just Christmas. Starting with fall, I am going to show you some ideas I would like to try in my house. I can't believe it's almost September. I am already thinking about Halloween costumes, for crying out loud! For some reason, and I know this has nothing to do with the weather outside, it's starting to feel like fall. I would really say that Fall is my favorite season. I love the clothes people start to wear, the football on TV, pumpkins, the excitement of the best three holidays....

Great fall colors outside

Loving the big tray of different color apples...how much do I wish I would have a need for that much firewood this winter?

Spray painting gourds - good idea, except how long do they last before the rot? Anyone know?

Ugh, I wish I had a mantle. If anyone sees one for cheap somewhere, let me know!

I've never commented on your blog before, but my sister (Janet) has you linked on her page. Anyway, those are gourds, not vegetables and they will last a long time without rotting. I usually purchase them in early October and then leave them out through Thanksgiving. I've never spray painted them but in their "natural" form, they last a long time.

That is pretty cool, I knew my mom's pumpkins lasted a while...glad you commented, sounds like they are worth what you pay for them, for sure, with as much use as you get for them!
