Furniture Redo and Some Bedroom Ideas

I wanted to show everyone what I've been working on these last few evenings....

This table has had a time of it...looks like it's been moved a few times, huh? While it's not where it needs to be yet, I did want to show you how it went from this (man, I need a new camera phone):

To This:

To THIS!!

I feel like I've been painting everything a plain black or white lately. Mainly because that's the paint I have. But, I just haven't had any other ideas and the more I am redoing furniture, the more I can't stand looking at some hideous piece of furniture, knowing I could make it look better but don't because I don't have the perfect color. I can ALWAYS paint it something else, so I just do what I have available for right now.

There are a few projects I have in mind this weekend for chalkboard paint. Luckily, that can costs about $3.50 and I can probably get a couple of projects done with one can, so that will be awesome.

Next up:

My bedroom. I've been dreading this for a while because the furniture is going to take a while to paint and there is really no where to take it, so it's going to have to be in our room as I redo it. NOT looking forward to that at all. Here are some ideas I've had for the space. I am going to do my furniture black because that is what my husband would like. I am going to paint the brass handles that are already on the dressers silver. And I've always wanted a very serene room, grown up looking room:

So, here are some of my top ideas:

But I kind of like this (not too wild about the leaves, but I like the colors):

But I also kind of like this:

Any thoughts??

The table looks great! Pick a bedding that will hide baby stains a little better. :)

I love that table!

My pick would be the blue sheet set-but that's only because I LOVE bright colors :)

I will tell you that my hubby and I ended up with black sheets(which everybody thought was really weird!) because we have two black cats who shed horribly. But we love our new sheets and our cats so it works perfectly :)

Guess Who Has A New Potty???

This girl!! Jason and I took Avery to Target tonight to find a potty chair. We didn't know what kind to get. When we got there, she loved the Sesame Street one. It's the kind that sits on the toilet, not an actual chair. I've heard both reasonings on a chair and a pad for the real toilet. On one hand, the chairs are little and easier for them to sit on and they aren't scary to flush. On the other, the pad doesn't require you to have to clean out a chair and they teach kids to sit on the big potty from the get go. What it really came down to was that we just don't have a big bathroom at all, so keeping an actual chair in the bathroom would have been hard. So we got the pad. It has a little hook that you attach to the tank, so you can hang the pad on it. I love this! I have no intention of actually potty training Avery full out, just yet. I don't think she is ready. But I have heard it's good to have one that they can practice sitting on and get u...

Some Changes...

We've been going through a bit of a transition at the Whitehead household the last month or so. I haven't really talked too much about it because I wasn't ready, to be honest. It's just a lot of change and I've been trying to figure it out in my head.   As of three weeks ago last Friday, I am no longer a full time work out of home employee.   I can't believe I just said that.   It's been the plan for several months now for me to go into real estate and it was always assumed I'd be doing that part time, while keeping my full time job. Plans kind of changed when Jason got his promotion. He'd always has a job that allowed him a lot of flexibility. In sales, especially after you've been in a position for a while, it just sort of happens that way. He could take Avery to daycare and pick her up, he could take her to doctor's appointments, he could even do chores around the house in the afternoon, while I was at work. I had some flexibi...

Just a little bathroom project....

Raise your hand if this is what your bathroom looks like after every round of baths at your house????
