Friday Night Thoughts.....

I actually got to visit with my sister on Friday in my neck of the woods. SO nice to see her. I brought Avery with us, she was good for about 20 minutes, but around 7 she started to realize she wasn't home and getting ready for bed and had a bit of a fit. But for about 20 minutes, she was in her highchair, kicking those legs, talking to us, smiling for us, and performing for our entertainment. Haha. I took a few pictures but I LOVE this one Brooke got on her phone!!!

Here is me and my sister. Isn't she beautiful???

I've talked a little about how I've been depressed lately. And while I think some of it has to do with the extra weight I am carrying, and being broke, and post-partum, Brooke mentioned to me on Friday that she thinks it also has to do with the fact that I am so far away from everyone in my family and my friends.

For those of you not familiar, I am from Grand Prairie, TX, which is located in the middle of Dallas and Fort Worth. I live in Plano, TX, which is far North of Dallas. While it is about a 45 minute drive from Plano to GP, and it is an easy drive for a weekend, it's definitely not a hop-skip-and-a-jump. We have dogs, so we can't stay gone all day to see family and friends unless we spend the night. Christmas is hard because there are too many of us to spend the night but we hate not just being down the street or a few minutes away. My sisters and friends live in GP or surrounding cities, so being down there would be really awesome. Honestly, there just really isn't any reason to stay in Plano anymore. I came here in 2005 to get away for a while, but I don't want to be away anymore.

SO......

We are in the market to find a house in GP!!! We are going through the pre-approval process now, hoping that good timing will come our way and we can find something. We are not in a rush, so it makes the process a little less stressful. I am actually really excited. We will be closer to Six Flags/Hurricane Harbor and the Ballpark, which will be great for the kids, closer to my friends, closer to his friends. It's a really great thing. I love when God starts to connect the dots for you.....

Guess Who Has A New Potty???

This girl!! Jason and I took Avery to Target tonight to find a potty chair. We didn't know what kind to get. When we got there, she loved the Sesame Street one. It's the kind that sits on the toilet, not an actual chair. I've heard both reasonings on a chair and a pad for the real toilet. On one hand, the chairs are little and easier for them to sit on and they aren't scary to flush. On the other, the pad doesn't require you to have to clean out a chair and they teach kids to sit on the big potty from the get go. What it really came down to was that we just don't have a big bathroom at all, so keeping an actual chair in the bathroom would have been hard. So we got the pad. It has a little hook that you attach to the tank, so you can hang the pad on it. I love this! I have no intention of actually potty training Avery full out, just yet. I don't think she is ready. But I have heard it's good to have one that they can practice sitting on and get u...

Some Changes...

We've been going through a bit of a transition at the Whitehead household the last month or so. I haven't really talked too much about it because I wasn't ready, to be honest. It's just a lot of change and I've been trying to figure it out in my head.   As of three weeks ago last Friday, I am no longer a full time work out of home employee.   I can't believe I just said that.   It's been the plan for several months now for me to go into real estate and it was always assumed I'd be doing that part time, while keeping my full time job. Plans kind of changed when Jason got his promotion. He'd always has a job that allowed him a lot of flexibility. In sales, especially after you've been in a position for a while, it just sort of happens that way. He could take Avery to daycare and pick her up, he could take her to doctor's appointments, he could even do chores around the house in the afternoon, while I was at work. I had some flexibi...

Just a little bathroom project....

Raise your hand if this is what your bathroom looks like after every round of baths at your house????
