Updates About ME!!!

I don't have any great pictures to show today, so I thought I would tell you guys what I've been up to.

Well, I think we found a house! I was having a bit of a panic attack that our lease was up at the end of October and we had no place to move, so I posted something on Facebook about needing a place. Within minutes, a friend of our family said, "we have a house! It's the house I grew up in, but if you are interested, let us know." Here is a picture...

So, yes, it's older and yes, it's a little smaller. But it's $500 less than what we are paying now, in the right area, and with no security deposit. Um, yes please! It's got a huge backyard with big trees, which is exactly what we wanted more than anything. But this will give us a great chance to put some money aside, so next year, we can (hopefully) buy. The papers are not signed, but I am hoping it works out!

Avery's birthday is in two months. Yes, on Friday she will be 10 months old and her birthday will be in 2 months. I can't believe it. I thought about some good themes and found this awesome blog site for birthday parties....

Kara's Party Ideas is a great, great site for birthday parties or showers of all ages (but mostly kids, I think). I am thinking Sesame Street because Avery loves Elmo and loves to watch Sesame Street. Here is a preview from one of the party ideas I found...

There is some potential here! I never thought I would have a Sesame Street Party, but when you look at blogs and see how people have done it where it doesn't look completely cheesy, it makes you think...hmm???

Now, you all know I love Thrifty Decor Chick. But she has outdone herself this time. This is my idea of the perfect backyard patio...

Oh my goodness. Heavenly. Her husband built that entire deck. Um, serious skills, right?

I'd like to borrow her husband and have him teach my hubby how to build a deck like that! I'm in LOVE!

And congrats (almost!) on the house! Good luck with the papers! A big yard is a HUGE plus with a little kid :)

Guess Who Has A New Potty???

This girl!! Jason and I took Avery to Target tonight to find a potty chair. We didn't know what kind to get. When we got there, she loved the Sesame Street one. It's the kind that sits on the toilet, not an actual chair. I've heard both reasonings on a chair and a pad for the real toilet. On one hand, the chairs are little and easier for them to sit on and they aren't scary to flush. On the other, the pad doesn't require you to have to clean out a chair and they teach kids to sit on the big potty from the get go. What it really came down to was that we just don't have a big bathroom at all, so keeping an actual chair in the bathroom would have been hard. So we got the pad. It has a little hook that you attach to the tank, so you can hang the pad on it. I love this! I have no intention of actually potty training Avery full out, just yet. I don't think she is ready. But I have heard it's good to have one that they can practice sitting on and get u...

Some Changes...

We've been going through a bit of a transition at the Whitehead household the last month or so. I haven't really talked too much about it because I wasn't ready, to be honest. It's just a lot of change and I've been trying to figure it out in my head.   As of three weeks ago last Friday, I am no longer a full time work out of home employee.   I can't believe I just said that.   It's been the plan for several months now for me to go into real estate and it was always assumed I'd be doing that part time, while keeping my full time job. Plans kind of changed when Jason got his promotion. He'd always has a job that allowed him a lot of flexibility. In sales, especially after you've been in a position for a while, it just sort of happens that way. He could take Avery to daycare and pick her up, he could take her to doctor's appointments, he could even do chores around the house in the afternoon, while I was at work. I had some flexibi...

Just a little bathroom project....

Raise your hand if this is what your bathroom looks like after every round of baths at your house????
