I have a good before and after to show you today and some new decor in my house! I love doing these because it means something at my house has changed and I really like change when it comes to decorating.
I got some new hand me down furniture (which I love!). It consisted of a coffee table and two end tables. I am not a fan of the color wood furniture these days. It just doesn't match the rest of what is going on in my house, so I decided to paint them black.
You can see the detailing, so this is a project that is taking a while. I finally finished one of the tables and am working on the others as we speak. I even hired a hunky painter to help me....
I used my $5 Oops! black paint that I have used so much and I am certainly getting my money's worth! I really haven't decided yet which takes longer, painting with a brush or spray paint. If I had the room to spray paint, I would. But I really hate spray painting. I really, really do. And since I already had the paint, I was just going to deal with the time it took. I had a larger brush and then a small brush to get in the little cracks and crevises. I primed first with Kilz, and it took 3 coats of black paint to get a good even look. Then, I used my Valspar sealer spray paint and covered the whole thing to make sure it doesn't chip.
And here is the final product!!
I really thought the brush strokes would show through, but the didn't at all! It came out very even and I was happy with the final product!!
Here is my new corner. However, the lamp shade on this lamp was a DIY fail that I just hadn't fixed. It looks fine with the light off....

But when you turn the light on....
You can see that the paint didn't look even at all. I had used the last of my Cappucino paint that night and just haven't been back to the store to get more. It really drove me crazy but I just didn't have the energy to fix it until last night.
I taped off the parts of the lamp that I wanted to leave Cappucino and then decided to spray paint the rest white.
Here is the final product! Not sure if I am completely convinced I love it, but it does look better with the light on!
I used to have a dresser in this corner. Where did it go, you ask?
Well, I'll tell you!
It went here!!
I love this corner now. It's come a long way and it looks fantastic!!!
Well, that's my updates for the day - I hope you all have a great hump day!!!
